Step 5:  I want to maintain my change(s)

At this phase, you’re no longer working to make a change but rather, it’s time to work to keep the change!  For some, this is an easier phase of change and for others it’s not.  Either way, there’s some work that still needs to be maintained to keep going on that Personal Roadmap for Successful Change.  Here are 5 Simple Strategies to help you stay successfully changed:

 

  1. Keep your distance -  from people, places, and things that might lead you to fall into a Trap
  2. The Top 3 List – keep a list of why you want to make this change with at least 3 of your very best reasons to stay changed
  3. Out with the old & in with the new – create a new you (any way you like!)
  4. Feed your head – watch what you’re thinking and adjust when needed
  5. It’s all about You – you worked incredibly hard to get here so be sure to give yourself the reward of thanks you deserve; it really was not us, not a support group, not an outside entity of any kind that accomplished your goal(s).  Now mind you, you were obviously clever enough to ask all those folks to help you when you needed help.  And that’s just what we were hoping for!
